Joe Williamson
Having been awarded the title of Young Scottish Jazz Musician Of The Year in June 2018, Joe Williamson has been hailed as “a crucial contributor to the bands that define the Scottish jazz scene’s current strength” (The Herald). Hailing from the North East of England, Joe is now resident in Glasgow, where he graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with first-class honours. Joe is a member of Graham Costello’s Strata, a genre-defying sextet recently nominated for Scottish Album of The Year, and leads his own groups Animal Society and Square One, winners of the Peter Whittingham Jazz Award 2015.
